OVERVIEW:

Evidence-based epilepsy self-management programs are poised to broadly impact the real-world management and monitoring of epilepsy and drive the improvement of health outcomes and quality of life for people facing challenges caused by epilepsy and seizures. Evidence for the benefits of epilepsy self-management programs has grown over the past decade with more than a dozen randomized controlled trials supporting the benefits of self-management interventions.

This workshop will share implementation strategies that epilepsy center teams (APRNs, MDs, neuropsychologists) can utilize to provide self-management programs to their patient population with the support of Managing Epilepsy Well (MEW) teams.

Program:

Moderator: Elaine T. Kiriakopoulos, MD, Robert Fraser, PhD, CRC, Gena Ghearing, MD, Erica Johnson, PhD, FAES, and Lindsay Schommer, APRN, ANP-BC, WHNP-BC
